STONES
and the magic they hold

My collection of stones has an ebb and flow; they come in and they go out.  To give you some things to look at when you are thinking about a custom piece I will be putting up pictures of what I have in stock.   Along with that, I will attempt to show it in a finished image as well as some information about the stone.

Turquoise

The gem of the southwest, Turquoise is one of the most prized and cherished stones for so many people.  Historically, Turquoise is credited with the property of securing friendly regard, verifying the traditional saying that “he, or she, who owns a Turquoise will never want for a friend.”  See CrystalVaults.com

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli was among the most highly prized tribute paid to Egypt, obtained from the oldest mines in the world, worked from around 4000 B.C. and still in use today. Referenced in the Old Testament as sapphire (unknown in that part of the ancient world), Lapis Lazuli is most likely the fifth stone in the original breastplate of the High Priest, as well as those of later times.  See CrystalVaults.com

Obsidian

Obsidian is no ordinary stone, but nature’s glass formed from volcanic lava and hardened so quickly it formed no crystalline structure.  See CrystalVaults.com   Depending on the minerals involved it comes in a variety of colors and variations.  Shown here is Snowflake Obsidian which contains small, white crystals that are as unique as every snowflake that falls.

Rhodonite

I reached out to my Lapidary Club online to ask about this particular stone.  Most Rhodonite has black veining and this one has very distinct green, but we all believe that it is just an exception to the rule making it even that more special!

An extraordinary stone of the Heart Chakra, Rhodonite is highly recognized as an emotional healer and for bringing one back to center during stressful times. See CrystalVaults.com

Amethyst Quartz

Amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to promote calm, balance, and peace. ... Emotionally, amethyst is used in crystal healing to help heal personal losses and grief, bringing one gently past.

Chyrsocolla  (Chris - a - call - a)

According to Crystal Vaults "Chyrsocolla is first and foremost a Stone of Communication. Its very essence is devoted to expression, empowerment and teaching. The serenity of its turquoise-blue color discharges negative energies, calms, and allows truth and inner wisdom to surface and be heard."

Mookaite (moo - kite)

From Western Austrailia, this amazing stone is composed predominantly of the microscopic fossills and is said to connect one to the energies of the earth, allowing for a deeper connection to the eternal instinct of the spirit in human form.

Utah Petrified Wood

While I was teaching at The Ghost Ranch last year a friend gave me this 'rock'.  He had found it while hiking in Utah and felt like I was the person it belonged to.  Imagine my surprise when I sliced and polished this wood.  The predominant color is the black but hidden within are the slightest veining of a deep brown.

Larimar (lah - rie - mar)

Visit my commissions page to see my first experience with this meaningful stone.

Larimar, also called "Stefilia's Stone", is a rare blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. From Wikipedia,    From Crystal Vaults,
Larimar is a stone of tremendous benefit to the Throat Chakra, opening the way for clear communication and the ability to speak openly from the heart.

Striped Flint

Picture
From the Vistula River near Sandomierz, Poland.  The stone was carried by ancient Greeks to protect them against nightmares, the influence of bad energies and it favors bonds with nature.
